APPLICATION
We are now accepting entries for the 2008 Taiwan Teddy Bear Show
& Creative Awards. Information is now available at TWTBA web
site at URL: www.twtba.org.tw.
Please read all rules and conditions and submit all forms to participate
in this event. (All Entries must be received by September 15th,
2008)
CONTEST
ENTRY FEE:

USD 24 per contest bear.

USD 12 for second contest bear and above (each).
3.
USD 20 for each nominated bear returned.

The fee is non-refundable for
both tables and competition. Fees are applied to our costs of
show place, publicity and administration costs.
CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS (visa/MasterCard/diners
card) can be accepted and will be processed via "fred-i-bear"
credit card facilities and the transaction will be shown as "fred-i-bear
on your statement.

1】Fill out each entry form or print form completely. All applications
completed in English type or written in block letters.
Any contest entry form that is not signed or accompanied by an
entry fee will be invalid and not viewed by the judges. A separate
entry form must be filled out for each bear entered. Limited one
bear per entry form.
If you cannot print the forms
from our website, please contact our TWTBA office and we will
email, mail or fax the forms to you. Deadline for submitting forms
is September 15th, 2008. Up to this date all necessary documents
must have reached the TWTBA office. Please send your application

CONTEST RULES
- There are 5 categories for both local
and international artists/bear maker/manufacturer to enter.
No artist's name/tag on any bear entered into the competition.
- Contest bear must be the original artist's own design. All Competition
Entry Forms must be received by September 15th, 2008.
- Entry forms can be found on the TWTBA web site www.twtba.org.tw
A separate entry form must be filled out for each bear entered.
Limited one bear per entry form.
- 3 good quality 4x6" photographs must be submitted. All
photographs must have a plain background. NO PHOTOGRAPHS WILL
BE RETURNED and permission is given for the TWTBA to publish these
photo's in TWTBA web site and bear magazine "Bear Focus"

(2) Full frontal view of bear
(3) Back view of bear
(4) Photographs with completed forms must be sent to the TWTBA

(5) Entries that are submitted by email can be sent to service@twtba.org.tw
/ lck@mweb.co.za (different screens/monitors will show different
colours, we advise to send photographs by post and only use email
if you are submitting late.)
(6) 6 bears in each category will be nominated. Nominated bears
will be on display at our website between 27th October till 5th
November open to the public for online voting.
(7) Nominated bears have to be SENT to TWTBA in Taiwan, not reaching
Taiwan later than the 7th November 2008 where the final judging
will take place at the exhibition on the 16th November 2008.
(8) Nominees submitting their entries for the contest at the show
must hand them in between 10.00am-11.00am on Sunday 16th November
2008 at the exhibition.
(9) The voting will be made up by 15% from online voting, 85%
by the judges on the day of the exhibition.
(10) Winning bears will be announced at the exhibition at 4.00pm
on Sunday 16th November 2008.
(11) The winning bears will be displayed in the nest issue of
TWTBA magazine "Bear Focus" and on our website.
(12) The TWTBA Int'l judges will rule in all disputes. The committee's
final decision will be the final score for this competition.

is a wonderful way to promote your work and we look forward to

THE FIVE
CONTEST CATEGORIES DEFINITION OF TERMS
MEASUREMENTS
Measurements: Measure the bear standing. Measure in a straight
line from the top of the head to the surface on which the bear
is standing. Bent leg bears should be measured in the sitting
position. Bears on all fours should be measured from the tip of
the nose to the bottom of the extended hind leg. (A standing position)
ELIGIBLITY
- This contest is open to teddy bear artists from any country.
- You may submit as many entries as you wish in each category,
but only one entry from any one artist or manufacturer can be
nominated in any one category. However, an artist may receive
nominations for both an individual entry and collaboration within
the same category. Any substantial changes in design, costume,
materials, or retail price from the original entry are grounds
for disqualification of the entry.
- Bears must remain on exhibit until 5PM on November 16th, 2008.
- Nominated bears will be posted back to contestants within two
weeks after the show and will be advised when this is done.
JUDGING
CRITERIA
- A panel of TWTBA Int'l judges will award entries points based
on: Originality; Innovation; Skills; Quality of Construction;
Overall Anatomical Appearance and Collectability
- Prize: 1 Grand, 1 Sliver and 1 Bronze prize for each category.
- Special Award: Public Vote (visitors/audience/exhibitors) for
:Best Teddy Bear In The Show on display: November 16th, 2008
